About uwsconnect Ltd.
uwsconnect Ltd is a not for profit company formed by the University of Western Sydney in July 2004 to provide a range of social, sports and recreation, food and beverage, retail and related services and facilities across all six UWS campuses.
uwsconnect focuses on enhancing University spirit and identity and campus culture for the benefit of the UWS community – engaging students, staff, industry partners and the Greater Western Sydney Region community.
Principal to uwsconnect's charter is continuous improvement in the quality and range of services and facilities provided. This principle is realised in the plans for the future, specifically directed at providing sustainable, equitable, professional and relevant services to enhance the University experience; promoting UWS as a preferred place of study for local, national and international students.
uwsconnect’s Primary Services
Food and Beverage
uwsconnect operates coffee shops, bars, cafeterias, coffee carts, vending and function catering on all UWS campuses. They achieved the Food Safety & Quality Standard HACCPVER:97 across all food outlets in 2006 – this certification being recognised as “Best Practice” within the Industry. Prices are set to reflect current market position based on costs at other universities and at local outlets, and only high quality products and ingredients are used.
Retail Service Centres
Retail Service Centres are operated by uwsconnect and have been designed to be a one-stop-shop for all retail and leisure needs. Apart from a comprehensive range of products specially targeted to meet the requirements of a university campus, the Retail Service Centres also double as information points and booking offices for all trips, tours, activities and events. The retail section provides stationery, technology items, clothing, giftware, course-specific items, drinks, confectionery and general items.
Connect Fitness Centres
Connect Fitness offers a network of commercial fitness centres located throughout Greater Western Sydney, appointed with qualified staff and modern equipment and amenities. The centres are utilised by the UWS community, the broader community and local clubs. uwsconnect also operates other sporting facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts and ovals.
Sports, Recreation, Leisure & Lifestyle
uwsconnect supports UWS student sporting participation both for individuals or teams, either at the social, club or elite level. Apart from competitive sport, there are a variety of leisure courses and trips on offer – vocation-related courses as well as a diverse variety of general interest courses; and trips, tours and adventure outings.
Activities, Events & Entertainment
uwsconnect provides many on-campus and off-campus activities and events to broaden the overall University experience, making it both enjoyable and rewarding.
